After nearly three years of a digital separation, the National Infusion Center Association is headed to the heart of Louisiana – New Orleans!
NICA brings together infusion stakeholders and providers – both large and small – to advance their practices, increase clinical standards, and of course, have some fun along the way. This year’s conference is taking place June 17 – 18th at Hyatt Regency New Orleans.
Brian Nyquist, President and CEO of NICA, offers his insight about the highly anticipated annual conference and the benefits you and your clinic will gain.
Is the NICA conference virtual or in-person this year?
We are so excited that our conference will be an in-person event in New Orleans, Louisiana! After all the restrictions associated with the ongoing pandemic, it is so important that stakeholders take advantage of the human connection that a live, in-person opportunity offers to the industry.
Who will I be meeting at the NICA Conference? What kinds of groups will be represented?
At #NICA2022, you will network and connect with infusion operators, solutions and product vendors, drug and medical device distributors, GPOs, and pharma companies. Infusion enterprises large and small across specialties and a variety of care models will come together to learn, network, and explore the latest technologies and solutions to help you do more of what you do, and better!
What kinds of educational sessions will there be to choose from when I sign up?
This year, we have four education tracks that organize our sessions: operations, management, clinical, and advocacy. There will be a little bit of something for everyone – from infusion center staff to the C-suite and back-office. You may find the conference schedule with a list of sessions across all four tracks here.
What kinds of companies can I expect to meet in the exhibit hall?
There will be dozens of solutions vendors for you to meet in the exhibit hall this year to meet a variety of needs! Whether you are looking for the latest and greatest infusion pumps and med-surg supplies, billing/coding/revenue cycle management support, software/technology solutions, staffing/recruiting agencies, GPOs, distributors, or looking to meet with pharma, we’ve got you covered – including Right Way Medical at booth 129.
What type of social/networking events and celebrations might I look forward to?
Well, it’s been a couple of years since any of us were able to attend a killer party, so… you can definitely count on a few in New Orleans! We will also host an informal welcome reception for Board Members, Advisory Committee Members, and Provider Members on Thursday, June 16.
On Friday night, look forward to our official welcome reception for all attendees, and on Saturday night, get ready to celebrate our closing reception with a local jazz band, regional flavors, and more! We may have overdone it, but we have three years to make up for.
Are there specific COVID protocols or precautions I should plan for?
All participants at #NICA2022 will sign and be subject to our COVID-19 liability waiver upon registration. The waiver requires participants to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 OR present proof of a negative test within 72 hours of the event. There will be hand sanitizing stations throughout the venue in order to minimize the risk of infection and masks are encouraged but not required.
What should I know when booking my room and travel?
If you are a Board Member, Advisory Committee Member, or Provider Member, we invite you to join us for a members-only welcome reception on Thursday, June 16. Saturday night will be a blowout party for the closing reception that you will not want to miss! Our room block runs from Thursday night through Saturday night. Plan accordingly based on how much fun you can handle over a weekend in NOLA.
