Associate Buyer

Right Way Medical is seeking an Associate Buyer interested in learning and growing within the business-to-business medical distribution industry. The Associate Buyer is responsible for supporting procurement operations by executing purchasing activities, maintaining supplier relationships, and ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods. This role plays a critical part in inventory management, supplier coordination, and cross-functional collaboration to support business objectives. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and accountability.

Specific Duties

Purchasing & Order Management

· Create, issue, and track purchase orders in alignment with demand and inventory needs

· Use data to prevent both stockouts and overstock of expensive or regulated products

· Monitor order status, track shipments, and ensure on-time delivery

· Resolve order discrepancies, including pricing, quantity, and receiving issues

· Maintain accurate purchasing records and system data

· Responsible for matching vendor invoices to purchase orders and confirming receipt of goods and services (three-way-match) within ERP system

· Other duties as assigned

Supplier Coordination

· Communicate with suppliers regarding orders, lead times, and fulfillment issues

· Maintain strong relationships with manufacturers and distributors

· Track manufacturer allocation and backorder status

· Support supplier onboarding and documentation requirements

· Assist in evaluating supplier performance (OTIF, responsiveness, quality)

· Escalate risks (delays, shortages, pricing changes) proactively

· Communicate with suppliers to secure equivalent substitute products when needed

· Other duties as assigned

Inventory & Demand Support

· Partner with internal teams to align purchasing with demand forecasts

· Monitor inventory levels to prevent stockouts and overstock situations

· Assist in managing backorders and product substitutions

Cost & Process Optimization

· Support cost-saving initiatives and pricing analysis

· Assist in identifying opportunities for process improvements within purchasing workflows

· Ensure compliance with company purchasing policies and procedures

· Other duties as assigned

Cross-Functional Collaboration

· Work closely with Operations, Sales, and Finance to support business needs

· Provide updates on order status, delays, and supply risks

· Participate in internal meetings related to inventory and procurement

· Other duties as assigned

Experience and Knowledge

· Minimum BA/ BS degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in logistics, management or other business related field

· Experience with NetSuite preferred

· Comfortable with problem solving

· Project management

· Good listener with strong written and verbal communication skills

· Enjoys taking the initiative

· Infusion pump or other related medical experience is a plus

· Advanced computer skills working with Word, PowerPoint, Excel

We are seeking a high-caliber Corporate Controller to lead our accounting operations and serve as a strategic financial partner to the executive leadership team. The ideal candidate will be a NetSuite power-user with specialized expertise in Fixed Asset Management (FAM) and the strategic vision to scale our financial infrastructure.

Core Responsibilities

  • Financial Leadership & Strategy
  • Direct all accounting functions, including month-end close, consolidations, and multi-entity reporting.
  • Partner with the CEO to provide strategic financial insights, leveraging real-time data to drive long-term business goals.
  • Identify and execute cost-saving efficiencies and process improvements across the organization.
  • NetSuite System Optimization
  • Act as the internal subject matter expert (SME) for NetSuite, ensuring the ERP is fully optimized for scalability.
  • Lead and refine automated workflows within NetSuite to reduce manual errors and accelerate reporting cycles.
  • Collaborate with COO to manage data migrations, system configuration, and user training.
  • Fixed Asset Management (FAM)
  • Own the end-to-end Fixed Asset lifecycle, from acquisition and capitalization to depreciation and disposal.
  • Manage the NetSuite FAM bundle, including configuring asset types, lifespans, and depreciation methods (e.g., straight-line, midlife handling).
  • Monitor capital expenditures (CapEx) monthly to ensure accurate valuation and regulatory compliance.
  • Compliance & Internal Controls
  • Enforce robust internal controls to safeguard corporate assets and minimize financial risk.
  • Ensure all financial reporting strictly adheres to US GAAP.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for external auditors, managing the annual audit process and tax preparation.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: 5-10+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a Controller or senior leadership role.
  • ERP Expertise: Advanced, hands-on proficiency in NetSuite ERP is mandatory; experience with NetSuite implementations is highly preferred.
  • Specialized Knowledge: Deep expertise in Fixed Asset Accounting and automated asset management systems.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; CPA or CMA designation is strongly preferred.
  • Strategic Mindset: Proven ability to translate complex financial data into actionable business strategies for senior stakeholders.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Days to Close: Reduction in the monthly and year-end close cycle time.
  • Reporting Accuracy: Minimal post-close adjustments and audit-ready financial statements.
  • Asset Accuracy: 100% reconciliation between NetSuite FAM records and physical asset counts.
  • Operating Cash Flow: Efficiency in managing working capital and CapEx planning.

Prior to founding Right Way Medical, Prati held various roles with Apria Healthcare, B. Braun Medical, and Medical Technology Resources, where his final role was Sr. Vice President of Sales and Operations. During his time serving at Medical Technology Resources he was influential in assisting in its acquisition to Medical Specialties Distributor, a company that has since been acquired by McKesson in 2018.

Prati has been involved in various philanthropic organizations including The Make-A-Wish Foundation, A Kid Again, Orphan’s Promise and has served in various board and volunteer roles at Cypress Wesleyan Church (Alton Darby and Dublin campuses) and the Vineyard Church of Columbus.

Josh Prati resides in Powell, Ohio with his wife Christa and two cats, Remey and Molly. He enjoys working out, developing relationships over a home cooked meal, great wine, and is an avid Ohio State Buckeye and Pittsburgh Steeler fan.
