That was this year’s theme to the National Home Infusion Association’s (NHIA) annual conference held this year from March 31-April 2 2014. The show was well attended by home infusion providers throughout the country along with many of the leading manufacturers in home health care products and infusion technology.
During the conference there were several keynote speakers addressing various topics within the industry such as successful billing strategies and adopting an all hazard approach to emergency management. There were numerous conversations regarding the Affordable Care Act, how the new healthcare law is changing the face of home infusion, and what that means to national and regional providers.
One positive piece of news that was announced during the show was the SGR, ICD 10 passage through the Senate. This legislation means that there will be “no decrease or change” in the fee schedule for the next 12 months. Although many infusion providers don’t make their primary focus on continuous chemotherapy, the legislation was a relief in that reimbursement was not being changed.
Right Way Medical will be exhibiting at next year’s National Home Infusion Association meeting. Next year’s meeting will be held at the Phoenix, Arizona convention center from March 23-26, 2015.
